I had to post about the pleasures of home made cookies. Not just eating them but, the smell, the enjoyment of watching family enjoying each other and laughing Thur the little miss-hap's that occur while baking those heaven sent treats.
My favorite cookie would be.............Grandma's old fashion sugar cookies. Just short of creating over consumption.

I would enjoy hearing about your favorite cookie or maybe a pastry.

Burning deceased humans will produce electricity

OK, this should offer some wild response. Look what we have come to.

In Durham, England, corpses will soon be used to generate electricity.
A crematorium is installing turbines in its burners that will convert waste heat from the combustion of each corpse into as much as 150 kilowatt-hours of juice — enough to power 1,500 televisions for an hour. The facility plans to sell the electricity to local power companies.
Some might find this concept creepy. Others might be pleased to learn that the process "makes cremation much greener by utilizing its by-products," in the words of cremation engineer Steve Looker, owner and chief executive officer of the Florida-based company B&L Cremation Systems, which is unaffiliated with the Durham enterprise.
In Europe, tightening regulations on crematorium emissions, coupled with the high price of energy, will lead more and more facilities to go the way of Durham in the future, Looker said. Will crematories in the United States follow suit?
According to Looker, whose company is currently testing different methods of utilizing cremation waste heat, the expensive turbine systems being installed in Durham are not yet economically viable for crematories here. "In the U.S., most crematories don't have enough throughput," he told Life's Little Mysteries. "Cremation in some parts of Europe is over 90 percent, but it is not over 50 percent yet here." That is, less than half of Americans opt for cremation. Most are buried.
Consequently, while burners in Europe typically run 24 hours day, ones in America operate only eight hours each day, Looker said. "A typical turbine system would cost somewhere between $250,000 to $500,000. If it's running 24 hours a day, that's a five-year payback. If it's running eight hours a day, that's a 15- or 20-year payback, which isn't feasible," he said.
However, Looker is hopeful that the situation could change in the near future. "Over the next 10 years, with the baby boomers coming through, cremation is going to reach 75 to 80 percent. Then, this might be feasible."
Furthermore, a turbine designed by a company called Thermal Dynamic Engineering, which produces just 50 kilowatt-hours of energy but is much less expensive to install than the Durham system, will be available in the near future, Looker said.
Thus, it may indeed come to pass that deceased baby boomers will someday help power your household appliances.

Worms, Worms and more Worms.

Hey everyone! I have been raising European Night crawlers for the past year and I would like to sell out.
at the present time I don't have an exact count however, the numbers will be in the thousands. I can ship these alive in mesh sacks here in the USA and in a cooler via air through out the world. I would like to get $20.00 per dozen plus shipping. the shipping will be determined when I'm notified of your location.

This is my quest to stay alive here on the Internet and continue to blog and offer you all a chance to voice your opinion on the subjects presented. Let's make a deal!

Making a living

Blogging is enjoyable for me therefore, I write what is interesting to me and what I believe to be of interest to my readers. One article is the Internet marketing program that I dove into. Well, It has some what of a positive ending. The company that offered the product that I was going to make thousands per week has refunded the original fee. This means that I didn't lose any money! WOW! On the other hand, I didn't make any money either.

My finances are dwindling and unless all of a sudden I find a few bucks in my mail box or I'm going to be forced into gaining employment.
What my intention is to let you know what takes place on this journey as I'm sure that there are others out there that are going through the same situation and maybe I can find a solution to our financial happiness.
I would love to have this blog be my income so that I could blog even more and not  have the lack of money influencing the direction and mental avenues I need to take but for now, we'll see.

Your last meal

What would you have choosen if it was your last meal? Please submit a comment on your pic and don't forget to include: Do you agree on "No more last meals"

HOUSTON -- Texas inmates who are set to be executed will no longer get their choice of last meals, a change prison officials made Thursday after a prominent state senator became miffed over an expansive request from a man condemned for a notorious dragging death.
steak-frites.jpg
Lawrence Russell Brewer, who was executed Wednesday for the hate crime slaying of James Byrd Jr. more than a decade ago, asked for:
  • 2 chicken fried steaks
  • 1 triple-meat bacon cheeseburger
  • Fried okra
  • 1 pound of barbecue
  • 3 fajitas
  • 1 meat lover's pizza
  • 1 pint of ice cream
  • 1 slab of peanut butter fudge with crushed peanuts
Prison officials said Brewer didn't eat any of it.
"It is extremely inappropriate to give a person sentenced to death such a privilege," Sen. John Whitmire, chairman of the Senate Criminal Justice Committee, wrote in a letter Thursday to Brad Livingston, the executive director of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Within hours, Livingston said the senator's concerns were valid and the practice of allowing death row offenders to choose their final meal was history.
"Effective immediately, no such accommodations will be made," Livingston said. "They will receive the same meal served to other offenders on the unit.
That had been the suggestion from Whitmire, who called the traditional request "ridiculous."
"It's long overdue," the Houston Democrat told The Associated Press after he was informed of Livingston's decision. "This old boy last night, enough is enough. We're fixing to execute the guy and maybe it makes the system feel good about what they're fixing to do. Kind of hypocritical, you reckon?
"Mr. Byrd didn't get to choose his last meal. The whole deal is so illogical."
Brewer, a white supremacist gang member, was convicted of chaining Byrd, 49, to the back of a pickup truck and dragging him to his death along a bumpy road in a case shocked the nation for its brutality. Prison officials deliver inmates their requested last meal about two hours before their scheduled execution hour -- 6 p.m.
Whitmire warned in his letter that if the "last meal of choice" practice wasn't stopped immediately, he'd seek a state statute to end it when lawmakers convene in the next legislative session.
It was not immediately clear whether other states have made similar moves. The Death Penalty Information Center, a Washington-based anti-capital punishment organization that collects execution statistics, said it had no final meal data.
Since Texas resumed carrying out executions in 1982, the state correction agency's practice has been to fill a condemned inmate's request as long as the items, or food similar to what was requested, were readily available from the prison kitchen supplies.
While extensive, Brewer's request was far from the largest or most bizarre among the 475 Texas inmates put to death.
On Tuesday, prisoner Cleve Foster's request included two fried chickens, French fries and a five-gallon bucket of peaches. He received a reprieve from the U.S. Supreme Court but none of his requested meal. He was on his way back to death row, at a prison about 45 miles east of Huntsville, at the time when his feast would have been served.
Last week, inmate Steven Woods' request included two pounds of bacon, a large four-meat pizza, four fried chicken breasts, two drinks each of Mountain Dew, Pepsi, root beer and sweet tea, two pints of ice cream, five chicken fried steaks, two hamburgers with bacon, fries and a dozen garlic bread sticks with marinara on the side. Two hours later, he was executed.
Years ago, a Texas inmate even requested dirt for his final meal.
Until 2003, the Texas prison system listed final meals of each prisoner as part of its death row website. That stopped at 313 final meals after officials said they received complaints from people who found it offensive.
A former inmate cook who made the last meals for prisoners at the Huntsville Unit, where Texas executions are carried out, wrote a cookbook several years ago after he was released. Among his recipes were Gallows Gravy, Rice Rigor Mortis and Old Sparky's Genuine Convict Chili, a nod to the electric chair that once served as the execution method. The book was called "Meals to Die For."

The NFL WINS!

In my previous post I picked the NFL to resolve their situation before our Gov. It didn't take a math professor to figure this one out. Obama our president, had to tattle on the republican party for holding the budget increase up. OH, that's the problem? Does this mean that our forefathers knew something? Maybe they figured that we need to make certain congress has to be involved in such an important decision in order to make the correct choice rather that giving all the financial power to one person or one party.

Monday, July 25, 2011

Who will decide first?

Who will come to an agreement first? The NFL or our wonderful Congress. As I see it if they all got together on both issues, the dilemma either to ratify a contract or budget would be resolved. My bet is on the NFL.

Ashland Ohio needs industry!

Here is a small Christian Based community that has had it's share of economic woes. This town used to be called the Balloon Capital of the USA and had low unemployment. Then the "I can make more money outside this country" took hold and all was lost. The labor cost is low here and taxes are at average or just a hair below national average. The residents of this community are good people and willing to assist most who are in need. Great Fire and Police departments and Ashland is located between Three major cities...Cleveland, Columbus and Akron. With a major highway I71 and Rt 250, this should be a real positive for most companies looking to expand.
The educational system is gradually improving and in my opinion, will be one of the best school systems in at least this state of not ranked in the top in the country.

I would like to see industry leaders, start up companies and green developers take a closer look at the possibilities this community has to offer. Most hidden treasures are right below our feet. All we need to do is dig a little and enjoy the rewards uncovered.
Send me a note and just maybe I can assist you in learning more about Ashland, Ohio

Man pays $16 to take over $330,000 house

The neighbors are outraged, but the Texas resident says his takeover is legal and will eventually give him title to the suburban Dallas home.

Waterford Drive, Flower Mound, Texas (© 2011 Microsoft Corporation/Pictometry Bird's Eye)
We all dream of scoring a great deal on a house.

But a $330,000 house for $16?
Kenneth Robinson of the Dallas suburb of Flower Mound, Texas, says he sealed just such a deal, taking over a vacant house by simply moving in and paying $16 to file documents with the court claiming ownership.

"This is not a normal process, but it is not a process that is not known," he told WFAA-TV in Dallas. "It's just not known to everybody."

Robinson said he invested months in research to find the house. The property had been in foreclosure for more than a year, and the owner walked away. In the meantime, the lender that held the mortgage went out of business.

I would rather see this guy get this house that the state collecting revenue on this property.

God is Love.

I believe that I am understanding more everyday about why having faith in God is an important part of living. I know that a man or women that is faith based is normally a more trust worthy person. I find God loving people helping their fellow man more that those who choose to believe that there is no God.
Even those who face severe turmoil caused by wrong doing will at some point ask God to help.
   GOD IS LOVE
He redeemeth thy life from destruction:
He crowneth thee with lovingkindness
and tender mercies:
Psalm 103:4

It certainly doesn't hurt to have faith. You might even find it enjoyable and comforting to know how much your God loves you.

Casey Anthony case

OK, I wasn't going to offer up my opinion however, after listening to people in my little neck of the woods, I feel compelled to announce a few facts on the verdict.
When we go to trial, a jury is selected by both the prosecution and the defense. Each agreeing on every juror in the box. The trial begins and both sides have the right to present their side of the story with the times, events, witnesses and oh yea facts. Only the jury hears the complete case and has the ability to go over all the testimonies and facts that were presented. Why is it that when a jury agrees on a verdict that we (out side the courtroom) don't agree with, we assume that our thinking was correct and the jury's verdict was wrong.
The prosecution has the ability to leak magnified information to the trial audience such as all who followed. This information can completely dictate our judgment causing the masses to jump to false conclusions. This my friends it happens all the time and especially if the jury isn't sequestered. This jury was sequestered and my complete sincere thank you goes out to each one of them and their families as they paid a price to help our social structure.

Casey Anthony is NOT GUILTY of murder. Casey Anthony is NOT like OJ. Please understand that the only people that have the in depth facts is the jury.

Well, now that you have heard my opinion,  what about you?

ORLANDO, Fla. -- After 33 days of testimony, 400 pieces of evidence and more than 90 witnesses, the jury in the Casey Anthony case has reached a verdict.
After just a day of deliberation, jurors informed the court at midday that they had reached a decision, and both sides in the case were ordered to assemble in the courtroom.
Anthony has been found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. She was also found not guilty of aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. But she was convicted on charges of misleading law enforcement.
The case against Anthony was mostly circumstantial, but as it unfolded she was portrayed in the trial as a promiscuous, self-centered woman who became a cold-blooded killer. The motive, prosecutors alleged, was to allow her to live a carefree life without her daughter.

The state's case theory was that a desperate Anthony used chloroform to subdue her daughter and then suffocated her with duct tape. Anthony then fabricated fantastic lies to cover up her deeds, they said.

Anthony's attorney Jose Baez told the jury his client was the victim of an abusive upbringing.

According to Baez, Casey Anthony and her father, George Anthony, were home alone on June 16, 2008, when they noticed Caylee was missing. They began a frantic search, looking under beds and in the garage. Then George Anthony took the search outside to the above-ground pool where they found a lifeless Caylee floating in the water, Baez said.

17 year old boy gets run over by a train!

A 17-year-old boy suffered only cuts and bruises after being run over by a train in northwestern Iowa.

Christian Latshaw told police he had been drinking at a music festival when he blacked out Sunday night.
Two Iowa Interstate Railroad engineers spotted something between the rails just before 11 p.m.
When they realized it was a person, they slammed on the emergency brake, according to the police report.
The engine and first car rolled over the teen before the train came to a stop.
The boy was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines with cuts to the back of his head and a bruise on his thigh.
He is currently in good condition and will likely be released from the hospital in the next day or two, a hospital spokesman told MSNBC.com.
The police filed trespass and public intoxication charges against Latshaw.

Shrinking OHIO'S Prison Population.

OK, Is it religious or is it money?

COLUMBUS -- A new law may help shrink Ohio's prison population to about 47,000 inmates by 2015, a figure that's still far above the system's actual capacity but represents a dramatic reduction in the population had nothing changed, according to state Department of Rehabilitation and Correction estimates.
Gov. John Kasich signed a bill Wednesday aimed at reducing the inmate population by putting fewer nonviolent offenders behind bars and giving judges more sentencing options, moves that could save millions of dollars a year.
Ohio has about 51,000 inmates in 31 prisons built to hold about 38,000 prisoners. The state estimated the inmate population will rise to 54,000 in four years without action.
At a news conference, Kasich said it's no longer acceptable to take low-level offenders like drug abusers and house them with hardened criminals.
"We stick them in prison next to a murderer and a rapist. That's really made a lot of sense here in Ohio to be doing that, didn't it?" he said.
"In the Lord's eyes, all lives are precious," Kasich continued. "This bill is an effort to try to respond to what we think our duty here is as followers of the word, in the Old and the New Testament."
Prisons director Gary Mohr said 12,000 inmates are serving sentences of under a year and some of those for just a few months or less.
"Low-level nonviolent offenders do better, recidivism is better, their success is a whole lot better if they're treated in a right place, in a community setting, in evidence-based programs," he said.
Both Mohr and Kasich said the changes also will help prisons get tougher on inmates who need strict discipline.
The new law represents one of the first major changes to the way Ohio punishes inmates since a sweeping tough-on-crime overhaul in 1996 that created stricter, more mandatory sentences.
In the years since, Ohio's inmate population has soared while state resources have grown scarcer.
Meanwhile, numerous studies have found that one-size-fits-all sentencing can have the unintended consequence of increasing return visits to prison, especially when minor criminals are hardened by their time behind bars.
The new law will allow certain inmates convicted of lesser crimes to serve time in community-based centers -- closer to families and jobs -- instead of in more expensive state prisons. They also could earn reduced prison sentences by completing rehabilitation programs.
The law also will eliminate differences in sentences handed down for crack cocaine and powdered cocaine convictions.
Legislative analyses this spring pegged the savings to taxpayers at $78 million a year. Prison estimates earlier this month put the savings at closer to $46 million over four years.
Judges for the most part have been supportive of the changes, including Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor, who said in March that Ohio's budget problems should be the catalyst for the state to update its probation system.

A Birthday tribute!

Happy birthday to my dear friend Richard Buchanan who passed away March 17 2011. I have found myself having a hard time with it today.

The thing of it is, it;s all mental and I know that, then why do we allow certain dates effect us? Time eases the mental pain I guess because we get more use to the fact. Maybe your thoughts will help not just me, but all who read this blog.

Until next time.

Video Gaming Touchdown!

The U.S. Supreme Court struck down on Monday a California law banning sales or rentals of violent video games to minors as a violation of free-speech rights, its first ruling in a video game case.
By a 7-2 vote, the justices upheld a ruling by a U.S. appeals court that declared the law, which also imposes strict video-game labeling requirements, unconstitutional.
The law was challenged by video game publishers, distributors and sellers, including the Entertainment Software Association. Its members include Disney Interactive Studios, Electronic Arts, Microsoft Corp and Sony Computer Entertainment America.
(Msnbc.com is a Microsoft-NBC Universal joint venture.)
The law, adopted in 2005, has never taken effect because of the legal challenge. It defines a violent video game as one that depicts "killing, maiming, dismembering or sexually assaulting an image of a human being." Retailers who sell or rent a violent video game to a minor could be fined as much as $1,000.
The nation's video game industry has about $10.5 billion in annual sales. More than two-thirds of U.S. households include at least one person who plays video games.
Six other states have adopted similar laws, and all were struck down in court.
The Supreme Court rejected California's argument that the Constitution's free-speech guarantees under the First Amendment do not prevent a state from prohibiting the sale of violent video games to minors under 18.
"Our cases hold that minors are entitled to a significant degree of First Amendment protection. Government has no free-floating power to restrict the ideas to which they may be exposed," Justice Antonin Scalia said in summarizing the court's majority opinion from the bench.

You see, if you keep your children locked in a closet chances are they won't learn all of these awfull devices such as the video games, Internet and adult television or any TV as far as that goes. OR! Teach your children what is good for mankind and instill family values. The children will get it.
This should have never went to the Supreme Court. It is no business of any entity to enter the home and decide what we can do, watch or play as long as it isn't a direct threat to persons or property.

Tell me what you think?

Assisted suicide on TV?

This artical has also hit home to me. They say assisted susicide is illegal in most states but I can prove to all that it happens every day. My best friend suffered from terminal neck cancer for 4 months before the cancer or the way we decide to treat the sick took his life.
Most of you are aware of Hospice, an orginization that helps terminally ill people pass on to tne next realm peacfully and with out pain. This is in a way assisted suicide. We quit giving nutrition and water and the body no longer can maintain the stress it's under and the heart stops. I believe in most cases this is truley the best and most humane treatment for those who are suffering and have no possible positive outcome.

In most places, and in the U.K., you run the risk of prosecution – and possibly prison – if you help a loved one to take his or her own life.
So a curious branch of the tourist industry has opened up, where those who want or need help to kill themselves travel to a house on an industrial estate just outside Zurich. The authorities won’t allow it in a residential area.
Switzerland has permitted assisted suicide under certain criteria since 1940. Those who want to take the final step can make their last journey to the Dignitas clinic there and for a fee, they offer what they call a “dignified death,” medically-supervised, counseled, and legal.
So it was to Dignitas that Peter Smedley traveled, and was filmed ending his life just a few days before Christmas last year. He would have preferred to die at home, but that choice was not open to him.
It was hard to watch, more so because, for much of my life, I have lived with the painful knowledge that my own grandfather killed himself. It was a story whispered to me as a teenager by my mother. My father never spoke to me about it, but in all his conversations about his own father he spoke of a decent, upstanding man – someone who, these days, we’d say had a strong “moral compass.”
One night, 80 years ago, he left his wife asleep in bed, went down the stairs, and quietly took his life by his own hand.
He was alone, and told no-one. He left only a note, which I found a couple of years ago in an archived newspaper report of his death. It makes hard reading.
It tells of a man struggling with nerves and a painful illness, who had recently lost his only daughter. He was worried for his job. A doctor had diagnosed “neurasthenia” – a condition no longer in scientific use – “exhaustion of the nervous system.”
“My nerves are all shaking as I am writing this,” he says in his final words to his wife and two sons. “This will break your heart, and I have tried not to do it, but I am a beaten man.”
The coroner recorded a verdict of suicide while of “unsound mind.” But he added kindly: “Instead of saying anything against his memory, one ought to feel very sorry he has been impelled to do this…I expect he thought it was the best way to end his trouble.”
These days my grandfather would likely have lived. His medical condition could have been treated and his mental state – depression – correctly diagnosed and addressed. I like to think he would have wanted to live, and I could have met him.
But even with modern medicines and treatment, there are those today for whom life seems to lose its worth. Do they, like my grandfather did, have the right to end it?
Should their loved ones face punishment if they help? Must they die alone? Must they die at all?
For Peter Smedley there was only one answer.
And so, as snow fell and covered the distant Alps beyond, he thanked his wife and those helping him to die, and drank from a plastic cup in a clinic far from home.

Adoption, shoud we or not?

YES!!!!! ADOPT!!!!!

I am one who has experienced the bliss of adoption. With out Adoption, children was out of the question for my wife due to health problems. Our son means as much if not more than if my wife gave birth to him. Some times I catch myself thinking how good my wife looks after having a baby and then it hits me...wait, she didn't have a baby we Adopted. It seems that natural and the love is over the top beyond and dream . Here are some more stories on adoption...enjoy.

Sandra Titus mists up with a mere glance at her adopted daughter’s baby photo
After the adoption went through last November, Sandra and her husband, Ross, reveled in their new family’s first Christmas together. One of their first gifts to their daughter Jillian: a sterling silver baby cup engraved with her new initials.
“To me, the cup means: ‘We’ll always make sure you’re taken care of,’ and no one can touch the fact that we’re family, that it’s unbreakable, irreversible. It’s priceless,” Jillian says.
Impressive words from the “baby” of the family. But then, Jillian Titus is 29, and an executive at Nintendo in Redmond, Wash. Her new parents — Sandra, 49, and Ross, 46 — also work at the video game company. The trio met at the office in 2008 and, initially, bonded over their Boston terriers. They later asked a judge to approve their homemade family for two reasons: love and money.
Adult adoptions appear to be rising in America, according to Chuck Johnson, president and CEO of the National Council For Adoption. The advocacy group is the only organization that tallies the number domestic adoptions taking place in the U.S., said Johnson, though it does not specifically track adult adoptions. Statistics are difficult to compile, experts say, because many states still mandate that adoption court records are sealed and confidential.
“But anecdotally, it does seem to be occurring more frequently,” Johnson said. The most common scenario he sees: former foster children — now adults — who are being adopted by their long-time foster parents. In rare cases, adoption experts say, adults who have lost or are estranged from their biological parents befriend older people who begin to feel like mothers and fathers — and they ultimately seek to legalize that emotional attachment.
“No matter how old you are,” Johnson said, “you never lose the desire for a family.”
Adoption can help provide a feeling of stability, says Deb Castaldo, an adoption therapist in Englewood, N.J., and a faculty member at the Rutgers University School of Social Work.
“Why would someone want to do this as an adult? Many reasons. First, wanting to remove the stigma of not having a family, of not having a feeling of permanence,” she said. “You can imagine what it’s like for someone who has no sense of belonging.”
In addition to grown foster children yearning to legalize an emotional link long felt with their foster parents — or grown stepchildren with their stepparents — same-sex couples who can’t legally marry are also using adult adoptions to ensure that when one partner dies, his or her split of family money goes to the other partner. Also, in rare instances, orphaned adults who are physically or mentally incapacitated are adopted by caretakers who then become authorized to make medical or financial decisions.
But in an age when the explosive question: “What defines a family?” can divide even, well, families, the most unique adoptions are those that legally unite adults who have never shared a home, much less the pages of a family photo album.

Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' jacket up for auction

Auction administrator Darren Julien says the red and black leather jacket is "the most recognized and significant piece of pop culture" to come up for sale, and he expects it to fetch at least $200,000 at the Music Icons auction on June 25 and 26 at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills.

Jackson autographed the jacket as a gift to his longtime costume designers, Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush. He wanted them to use the small calfskin jacket as a template for his future concert fashions. A portion of the proceeds from its sale will benefit the Shambala Preserve, where Jackson's two Bengal tigers, Thriller and Sabu, have been living since the pop star left his Neverland ranch in 2006.

Hey! I have a jacket that I wore when I watched Thriller. I'll sell it for $200.00

STOP EATING BEAN SPROUTS!

HAMBURG, Germany — German agricultural authorities on Sunday identified locally grown bean sprouts as the likely cause of an E. coli outbreak that has killed 22 people and sickened hundreds in Europe.

The Lower Saxony agriculture ministry was sending an alert Sunday warning people to stop eating the sprouts, which are often used in mixed salads, ministry spokesman Gert Hahne told The Associated Press.

"Bean sprouts have been identified as the product that likely caused the outbreak," Hahne said. "Many restaurants that suffered from an E.coli outbreak had those sprouts delivered."
Hahne said the sprouts were grown on a farm in Lower Saxony in northern Germany. He did not elaborate but planned a news conference later Sunday.
Hahne said while official test results have not yet conclusively shown that the Lower Saxony-grown sprouts were to blame, "all indications speak to them being" the cause.

Those damn sprouts. I knew there was somthing a little fishy about those sprouts. They thought they'd get away with it, ha! we'll show em' We will start eating raw eggs and chicken again!

Ford's New 3 cylinder Engine.

DEARBORN, Mich., June 2, 2011 – Ford is expanding its industry-leading range of fuel-efficient powertrains in North America with the addition of a new 1.0-liter EcoBoost™ three-cylinder – the smallest engine Ford has ever built – and an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission.

In addition, Ford's next generation of hybrid vehicles, including a new plug-in hybrid that will launch next year, will have a Ford-engineered transmission that will be built in Michigan.
The arrival of the latest member of the EcoBoost family, Ford's first eight-speed automatic and its new hybrid transmission will further strengthen the company's lineup of fuel-efficient vehicles. Today, Ford Motor Company has 12 vehicles that lead their sales segments in fuel economy and four vehicles that deliver at least 40 mpg, a lineup no other automaker can match.

3 cylinder? Who picked that number? Why not two cylinder? Think about the gas mileage then and we would be able to mow are yards.....wait! we already have those-lawn mowers OK, never mind. I'm still excited about hooking up a mower blade to my new car/mower/golf cart.
Not only are the engines getting smaller but you are going to spend the first ten or so miles shifting with an 8 speed tranny. I guess if it's an automatic it won't present any problems unless you get stuck in eight gear.

"In the last five years, we have made a record investment in new powertrains and fuel-saving technologies," said Derrick Kuzak, Ford group vice president of Global Product Development. "Today, we have the freshest powertrain lineup in the industry. And there is plenty more coming." OHBOY!

Friday June 3rd, 2011 Today in History.

Today in 1888, the poem "Casey at the bat", by Ernest Lawrence Thayer, was first published in the San Francisco Daily Examiner.
In 1961, President John F. Kennedy and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev opened two days of summit talks in Vienna.
In 1965 astronaut Edward White became the first American to "Walk" in space during the flight of Gemini 4.

If you would like to add to the history, please do so! I'd love it.

Camping should be relaxing.

I enjoy camping. I enjoy it so much that I have a camper set in a campground year round. This campground offers the cheapest yearly permanent price known to me. There isn't much there however, I enjoy the freedom that this facility allows due to the fact that, not too many campers there. My Friends all camp either yearly or weekly so I do have company and people to drink beer with. There is two ponds for fishing with Bluegill, Bass, Catfish and frogs. The restrooms are pit toilets and the water is UN-drinkable so I take my own.
This past weekend was set to be a Four day lay around holiday excursion...RIGHT! Friends kept showing up and friends and relatives of friends arrived in bunches. OK, I thought this should be quit the party until the children began to number in the double digits and every one of them seemed to be in a no listen state of mind. Now not only were they showing up by the bus load but, they all seemed to congregate to my lot. Of course everyone showed up hungry. My food was being consumed as if that would have been the last chance for everyone to eat the rest of their lives. OK, I thought, I guess i can handle that after all what's a little food. The real kicker was when my ice cold beer was the adult drink of choice. Now I'm thinking Noooooooooo, buy the time I could stop the feeding and drinking frenzy all was gone. No more food-no more beer and my water supply was condensation on the outside if my cooler. I can't wait to do that again!
NOT!

Osama Bin laden

My question to all readers.

Is the world a safer place now that he is dead?
How long must we fight organizations that live for human devastation?
Does the death of Bin Laden worry those who are still in his organization?
Will the people of this world ever understand that we are all brothers and sisters?

Let me know your thoughts.

His journey here on earth was quit the ride as I could write for hours and only cover a small portion. The good and the bad was educational and somewhat historic.

For those of you that had the honer of knowing and sharing time with rich understand heavens gain and our loss.

God bless you Richard Buchanan (butchie) I will hook  up with you later.

War on Libya and People

Sunday, March 27, 2011War in Libya

OK folks, after thinking on this since the beginning, I have arrived at my opinion to share with you.
The world has spoken to not just Gadummy (Gaddafi) but to all countries that are an oppression to its people. For the first time that I can remember people not Governments are speaking. This warms my heart and offers me a feeling that there is hope for this planet and its inhabitants. Yes, that's right, WE THE PEOPLE! Have decided to help those in distress not just political, but what seems to be all sorts of areas. for instance..Japan. Everyone wants to assist in helping the Japanese people. In Afghanistan all have come to realize the positives of creating a Taliban/Al-Qaeda free country to live in. The children are receiving an education instead of being taught hatred and killing. Adults are working on a better family life rather that watching terrorist drag their 5 year old out to be trained to go to war or strap an explosive to their chest and die for an insane reason.
I have prayed to me God and Savior Jesus Christ to bring peace to this world and rid the planet of Hunger. I now realize that my prayers are being answered. You see, god has given us the ability to change what needs changed, the ability to make certain that no one goes with out food and clean drinking water. It depends on us..WE THE PEOPLE!

I ask all who read this to take just 5 minutes of your time to say a short prayer and .25 cents or .50, .75 maybe even a whole $1 dollar bill and donate it to the cause.

Remember, we can change the world.....one day at a time.

Nothing to Fear!

"There is nothing to fear, absolutely nothing to fear"

"You must find a new focus, a new vision, for this is the day of life for all, a new beginning, a new paradigm, that none has seen before. It has its own problems and its own solutions."

"You cannot go back, you must go forward. You can use the wisdom of the past as it applies to this day which I have given you. The wisdom that you have gained today from the use of past wisdom will give new wisdom to be used tomorrow."
"You have listened to the coyotes, the greed of the priests, the shamans, the politicians, the bankers and the merchants, instead of listening to my Voice, to Me, the ONLY ONE who always speaks the Truth. They, the coyotes, have made myths and fables and lies to frighten, to tempt and to control you."
'You must rid yourself of ALL these old untruths, for they have kept you captive, fragmented and separated from Me and from Yourselves."
"I say to you, there are None more chosen and None less, for it is I who created each of you from the womb of Mother Earth, even as it was I who created Mother Earth from My Thought and My Love."
"These myths and fables of specialness are all lies. You are all special to me or I would not have created you for My purpose. You each are My special chosen son and daughter, and I see you as ONE. You are not separate. You are each a particular divine manifestation of Me and I would have you know this."

"Henceforth, listen not to the coyotes, for they have served their purpose and it is finished. Listen Only to Me with your inner ear, that part of Me which is You, Your Trueself. You will know the Truth, the Truth of You and the Truth of Me, the I AM. You will be Free, Whole, Not Separated. The condition of separateness that you see is a condition that never was, except as you have perceived it to be, because you have believed the lies of the coyotes. I have always said you are Free, Whole, Not Separated, ONE."
"As I created you from Mother Earth, so must you return to her bosum, so that I can create and blow the breath of life into you again and again. I say once again, there is nothing, absolutely nothing to fear, if you listen to My Voice and hear My Truth and do only that which you hear."

"I have spoken."

The Gift

An individual stands alone in this world but take that individual and place him/her in a family and the odds of survival multiplies by ten thousand percent. I have a friend that has been through Cancer surgery of the neck and now has to have all his teeth extracted and then the fun of kemo and radiation treatments begin. The pain is beyound understanding unless you have had Cancer. I have been with him from the start so I have a visual immage of his agony but not the accual feeling.

If he would not have had friends that treated his as family, I truly believe he would have given in to death. I know an individual stands alone however, a family will conquer and survive. It is what hold entire countries together.

I ask that all who read this blog, take a moment and think of who you know that is an individual with-out family. Make this person understand that he/she is not alone in the world but rather there is a family that stands with open arms to embrace any hardships that he/she falls into.

This will change the planet one by one, family by family. We can all live together with out the fear of being alone!
My final words on this subject is Keep faith in God and make every attempt to understand what he wants you to accomplish for him! This is The Gift.

Prayer that cost.

First of all, I am tottaly appaled at the audascity that someone would attempt to monitize on the art of prayers. I call it an art due to the fact that so many of us think that only a pastor, preacher has the ability to send and deliver the message to God. this is so far from the truth. we DO NOT NEED ANYONE TO PRAY FOR US TO BE HEARD!!! Those who claim that you have to say their prayer or tell them what you want God to hear your desires and a priest has to tell God....that's not true! I'm finding people charging money to get your prayers answered. That's awfull.

When you talk to god, you must know that he is the creator of all and that is so huge we can not humanly understant the power or size of our God. He has to know that you respect his Greatness. He sent Jesus christ to do so many things but the one thing is to forgive us our sins and to communicate with him (God). How could our simple brains communicate with something that tremendous. Only our sprit is capable in the realm after leaving the human flesh.

I am asking all who read this, please do not spend your money on religious people that profess to have answers and a direct line with God. I'd rather you spend that money feeding a starving human.

I am sorry for all spelling errors. I know what I want to tell you but have a hard time spelling all the words correctly.

Cancer and my Friend/Brother

My friend my Brother was diagnosed with cancer of the throat. From day one it has been like riding with the Devil in a door less bus. It seemed like the bus was moving faster and faster and the driver seemed to hit every pothole available throwing us around the bus at will. The pain! The loss of all hope! The realization that DEATH is standing before you. I'm sure you have experienced this if you have been diagnosed or know someone close that has.

STOP!!!! There is hope! You can get off the devil Bus and drive yourself to a better world. It all begins with People who really care and a Medical facility that offers hope and the dreams that you will be cured. I'm not saying a place that fills your head with false crap-we have all been in those places, but a genuine Cancer Clinic/Hospital that provides the absolute best surgeons for a particular area and type of cancer involved.

This being said, It's now been 4 months and my friend is sitting quitetly in a hospital room awaiting his release which will be in about another week. This is when step two to full recovery begins. The dreded kemo and radiation therapy along with a host of visits and medicins.
But this will soon be a memory and we will once again be found standing alongside a babeling creek with out fishing poles in hand and our favorite beverage in the other enjoying nature and LIFE. Never give up or give in.
